ESPP Announcements
We welcome submissions for oral and poster presentations for the symposium. Presentations and poster sessions will be held on Thursday, March 20, 2025, at the Kellogg Center. We seek abstracts that address the conference goals and are focused on this year’s theme: Our Waters. Authors are encouraged to address collaborative, interdisciplinary, and/or engaged approaches to solving water problems, although any water-related topic is welcome. I-GUIDE the Institute for Geospatial Understanding through an Integrative Discovery Environment supported by the U.S. National Science Foundation tackles fundamental scientific and societal challenges focused on sustainability, from biodiversity loss and disaster resilience to food and water insecurity. The I-GUIDE Forum 2025 will feature presentations and workshops/tutorials about cutting-edge geospatial science and technology advances for enabling sustainability solutions through pushing frontiers in geospatial AI and innovation. The themes for I-GUIDE Forum 2025 focus on (1) Frontiers in Geospatial and Sustainability Sciences (including telecoupling); (2) Geospatial AI and Data Science for Sustainability Solutions; (3) Innovation of CyberGIS and Cyberinfrastructure; and (4) Innovative Education, Training, and Workforce Development. Abstract submission deadline: March 24, 2025.

Claffey Meyer Travel Grant | Deadline: March 1, 2025
The Claffey Meyer International Award provides financial assistance to domestic students who intend to travel to developing (lower or middle income) countries for the purpose of providing technical assistance, participating in research, or engaging in service.

This fellowship will benefit students enrolled in any graduate program at MSU studying or doing research on water quality, especially as it relates to the Great Lakes and Lake Michigan in particular. The fellowship is intended to encourage students who have demonstrated the capacity to achieve educational and professional goals, the motivation to achieve these goals, and the initiative to seek opportunities to further their progress.

UCAR Next Generation Graduate Fellowship | Deadline: May 31, 2025
This fellowship is a two-year program for students currently enrolled in graduate studies related to Earth system science at a North American university. It provides the opportunity for Fellows to explore Earth system science by collaborating with UCAR experts while participating in professional development and leadership training opportunities.
