The Christine Mirzayan Science and Technology Policy Graduate Fellowship Program
Launched in 1997, the Christine Mirzayan Science & Technology Policy Graduate Fellowship Program is a full-time, hands-on training and educational program that provides early career individuals with the opportunity to spend 12 weeks at the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine in Washington, DC learning about science and technology policy and the role that scientists and engineers play in advising the nation.
Each year, new Mirzayan Fellows join a National Academies unit where they are assigned to a mentor and learn about the world of science and technology policy. An immersive experience, the goals of the Mirzayan Fellowship are to help Fellows:

The application for the 2025 Christine Mirzayan Science and Technology Policy Graduate Fellowship Program is now open! We are seeking current graduate students or recent graduates who are interested in exploring career options outside of academia or industry. A typical candidate is in the final years of their PhD program or has defended their thesis within the past five years, and is excited to spend time in DC, learn about science policy, and network with science and technology policy experts. This year's Fellowship will run from March 4 - May 24, 2024.International students already based in the United States, individuals with under-represented backgrounds, and/or those with demonstrated interest in taking science, engineering, and medicine beyond the lab are encouraged to apply.

The Alliance is a network of university partners from across the globe with a common vision of contributing to sustainable, global development. MSU participation in GCUA2030 is coordinated via the Center for European, Russian and Eurasian Studies (CERES).

The prize sum is 3500 EUR for the winner, 1000 EUR for the second place and 500 EUR for third place. The prize sum will go via each institution and be part of the laureates research funding. The prize winners will also be given the opportunity to present their research in a GCUA 2030 webinar.
Eligible candidates are current PhD students or those who will have defended their PhD theses in 2023 at one of the GCUA2030 member universities.
