BIOGRAPHY

Meghana is a master’s student in the Fisheries and Wildlife program at Michigan State University, pursuing a graduate specialization in Environmental Policy and certificates in Social and Ecological Systems Modeling and Community Engagement. Her research focuses on small-scale fishing communities in the Yucatán Peninsula, where she studies social-ecological transformations and supports the design of fishing refuges that balance ecological restoration with social and economic needs.
She holds a B.S. in Microbiology with minors in Environmental Studies and Sustainability and in Science, Technology, Environment, and Public Policy, also from Michigan State University. Meghana aims to integrate environmental science, policy, and community engagement to strengthen natural resource governance that accounts for both social and political realities around the world.
