Soren Anderson is an Associate Professor at MSU. He holds appointments in the Department of Economics and the Department of Agricultural, Food, and Resource Economics. His research spans a broad range of topics in energy and environmental economics with a current focus on automobile fuel-economy standards, consumer preferences for biofuels, gasoline demand, and ethanol markets. He has previously served on the staff of the President's Council of Economic Advisers and at Resources for the Future. Soren holds a Ph.D. in economics from the University of Michigan and a bachelor's degree in economics and mathematics from Macalester College in St. Paul, Minnesota.
