Composite Materials and Structures Center (CMSC)

The CMSC is a multidisciplinary research facility located at MSU’s College of Engineering. The expertise of MSU's engineering faculty, as well as faculty members from other colleges on campus, support the center's three major efforts. 1. Research on composite materials, processing and design. 2. Support of graduate and undergraduate education in the science and engineering of composites. 3. Transfer of composites technology to industry through seminars, short courses and cooperative research.

Institute of International Agriculture (IIA)

The Institute is home to many of MSU's externally funded international development project activities in the areas of food, agriculture and natural resources. Through IIA, MSU's faculty engage in collaborative research, offer training programs for international scientists and other professionals both on campus and in developing countries, and extend our scientific expertise to improve the lives of impoverished populations of the developing world as well as those in communities and industries in Michigan.

Knight Center for Environmental Journalism

The Knight Center, at MSU’s School of Journalism trains student and professional journalists to cover the environment. The program offers numerous classes and professional workshops for the study and practice of environmental journalism. It also maintains the Meeman Archives, a collection of more than 1,500 outstanding environmental journalism articles.

Sustainable Michigan Endowed Project (SMEP)

SMEP provides a venue for ongoing scholarly reflection and critique on the sustainability of Michigan, as well as seed grants for sustainability research from a Michigan state-level perspective. SMEP also provides a venue for on-going, long-term sustainability discourse with the goal of influencing the intellectual culture within MSU, and particularly the College of Agriculture and Natural Resources.
