ASSISTANT OR ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR IN
ENVIRONMENTAL POLICY
AT MICHIGAN STATE UNIVERSITY
The Departments of Political Science and Civil and Environmental Engineering seek candidates in the area of environmental policy for a 9-month academic year tenure track position at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor, beginning August 16, 2008. Applicants are expected to hold a doctorate in political science and at least a B.S. in a science or engineering discipline related to environmental protection. Candidates should have strong methodological skills, rigorous theoretical focus, and a strongly quantitative research approach. The successful candidate will be expected to develop an externally-funded research program that complements an emerging bio-economy initiative and the Environmental Science and Policy Program. The tenure home for this position will be in Political Science with a partial appointment in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering. The selected individual will be expected to teach undergraduate and graduate courses in political science, and to develop one course in environmental or technology policy suitable for engineering students. The closing date for applications is November 8, 2007, though later applications may be accepted if the search remains open.
