Interdisciplinary Conference Funding for ESPP Specialization and MSU Doctoral Students
For any MSU doctoral student to attend conference or meetings with an interdisciplinary environmental focus. Students must present their work. Up to $500 for domestic and $750 for international travel. Students currently enrolled in the ESPP specialization who have completed two of the four specialization requirements are eligible for up to two grants. Other doctoral students are limited to one grant.

Doctoral Recruiting Fellowship
The Environmental Science and Policy Program (ESPP) offers one-year Doctoral Recruiting Fellowships for students who will matriculate during the fall semester. The goal of these fellowships is to attract the strongest possible cohort of students to pursue doctoral education focused on the environment at MSU. Students MUST be nominated by their intended home department. Students may not apply directly for these fellowships but should work with their intended home department to prepare their application materials. ESPP is now offering up to $400 in travel grants to bring prospective ESPP students to MSU for a tour, after they have been nominated by their department.

NEW! Summer Research Fellowship in Urban Environments
ESPP announces the Urban Environment Research Fellowship for the Summer of 2017 for Ph.D. students currently enrolled at MSU. The goal of the program is to provide funding to Ph.D. students to support the next generation of scientists and to advance work in urban environment at Michigan State University. The Urban Environment Summer Fellowship provides funds to be used to enhance the educational and research experience of graduate students at MSU whose research focuses on any of the many aspects of environmental research in urban settings. Recipients of the Fellowship will be expected to present their research as part of the 2017 ESPP Research Symposium, which will take place in the fall of 2017 and be focused on Urban Environment. Each Fellowship will provide funding of $7,000 for the summer of 2017. All Fellows will be expected to participate in the 2017 ESPP Research Symposium in the fall of 2017. ESPP expects to award up to 10 fellowships. For more information on how to apply, contact ESPP at espp@msu.edu.
